“Reps Appeal to Ban Tertiary Institutions Acceptance Fee”

The House of Representatives is asking the Federal Ministry of Education and therefore the National Universities’ Commission to instantly get rid of the payment of acceptance fees into tertiary establishments.


This resolution follows a motion raised by Representative Chinedu Martins.

He attributed the poor access to tertiary education by Nigerians to the need for payment of the non-refundable acceptance fees as a condition for admission.

Honorable Martins expressed worry that if the observe isn’t checked, the poor within the country are unable to access tertiary education, particularly considering samples of faculties rigorous as high as N70,000 as admission fees, compared to the remuneration of N30,000.
